Tested in various builds by VMWare. While there are further kernel
drivers that will complete the full feature set it will already give
users useful features on e.g. Debian guests on arm under VMWare
hipervisors.

Some expected functionality is not operational yet due to dependency
on drivers that we will be contributing upstream in the future.
The code appears to be handling these cases gracefully.
