This is a no-op when building with GCC as it is already
enforced in the source code via pragma, but doing so from
d/rules as well fixes building with Clang.

Change several assignments to allow use of environment variables
for cross compiling.  Also remove the -s (strip) option from the
install command since cross compiled binaries are not compatible.

The daemon needs to start as early as possible to provide entrophy
during boot.

Check the path with pkgconfig, and if not available fallback to using
/usr/lib/systemd/system.

The daemon might be installed in a different location than the default,
in which case the service file will not work.
Generate the unit at build time with the path specified by the user with
make install.
