Building from Source
====================
Build it with the usual `./configure' followed by `make' commands. Packaging Notes
Install it with `make install'. ===============
Run it with `gnome-subtitles' or use the icon in the GNOME menu.
To try the program without installing it, `cd' to the `build' dir after building Check the NEWS file for dependency changes and other packaging notes.
it and run it with `mono gnome-subtitles.exe'.
The INSTALL file contains detailed information on this subject.
Hacking Gnome Subtitles
Building from Git =======================
=================
Get the latest code from the GNOME Git repository: Get the latest code from the GNOME Git repository:
git clone git://git.gnome.org/gnome-subtitles
git@gitlab.gnome.org:GNOME/gnome-subtitles.git
Run `./autogen.sh' to generate the build scripts. Some packages are required:
autoconf Install all required run time and build time dependencies (see above) plus the following which
automake are required to run autogen.sh:
glib-gettext
gnome-common gnome-common
gnome-doc-utils gtk-doc-tools
gtk-doc
intltool Run the build tools to make sure necessary libraries are compiled and placed on the 'build' dir:
libtool
pkg-config ./autogen.sh && make
You can now proceed to "Building from Source" to build Gnome Subtitles. Fire up Monodevelop and open solution file 'gnome-subtitles.sln'.
See http://live.gnome.org/Git/Developers for more information on how to use the
GNOME Git repository.
