Storage: FreedomBox not recognizing external storage device

Environment:

• Hardware: LIME2 rev. G2
• Software: Testing 19.1

I tried plugging in a USB flash drive into the USB port of my LIME2, and the storage device does not appear on /plinth/sys/storage/. The flash drive is ext. I tried refreshing the page, restarting the device, and plugging and unplugging the USB. I also tried a different USB. No success.

A user of the Cubietruck tells me that he too had the same problem: he plugged in an external storage device via the USB port, and it was not recognized.
