Anonymous, volatile file sharing using filetea
Created by: JosephKiranBabu
About filetea:
Anonymous, volatile file sharing.
It is designed to be simple and easy to use, to run in (modern) browsers without additional plugins, and to avoid the hassle of user registration.
- FileTea does not store any file in the server. It just synchronizes and bridges an upload from the seeder with a download to the leacher.
- FileTea sets no limit to the size of shared files.
- FileTea is free software (including server side), meaning development is open to the community, and you can run your own instance and make it better.
This blog explains filetea very well. https://blogs.igalia.com/elima/2011/09/01/filetea-low-friction-anonymous-file-sharing/
Usage in FreedomBox context:
Filetea's file sharing via web links combined with encrypted messaging using matrix-synapse can make make transfer of large files very simple and secure. This will be much more convenient than syncthing's folder-based sharing when all we want to share is one or two files.
