    urgh this is ugly :( Is there a better alternative that doesn't imply changing all our rules files? Maybe the DH buildsystem could set DH_VERBOSE automatically?

    Don’t know… I’ve just done this for all d/rules files I had checked out, in one go.

    Perhaps. I’d expect they will, in time.

    I suggest discussing this on the debian-java mailing list before changing more rules files. There is certainly a better solution.
