Miscellaneous fixes

The most important is the one regarding the lintian.py file, but in order to both upstream the fix to you and ship it in Ubuntu I needed to write the other two commits, so...

I'll be shipping both the test fix and the lintian.py fix in a version 1.120ubuntu1, as lintian-brush is currently blocking a few other packages, but I'll be glad to sync back the Debian version afterwards :).
