Ubuntu 22.04 dialer issues

Since upgrading to Ubuntu 22.04. I have notice issues with the dialer.

minicom/jammy,now 2.8-2 amd64 [installed]

Dialer does not act on connect from modem. When dialer times out. Modem show connected. The space (retry) and escape (abort dial) is ignored. The modem carrier signal does not toggle connection. Have not notice any other issues. Break works.
