This is the MR matching my message to #988174.

I've verified via heavy looping that the almost 50-50 chance of hitting a trivial error when building Raspberry Pi images completely goes away once the upstream commit is deployed on top of the bullseye package. I've tried to follow current practices regarding patch management, commit messages, etc.

Marking as draft as two topics need to be addressed:

  • get a decision from the security team regarding the CVE fix (via security or via bullseye-proposed-updates);
  • get an ACK from the stable release managers regarding the final diff against the package currently in bullseye (if we go via bullseye-proposed-updates).

Thanks for considering, thanks for your time.
