      Improve deb(5) support. · 742b6017
      Reiner Herrmann authored
To fully support the deb format, data.tar and control.tar can
also be uncompressed and control.tar can be xz compressed.

Fall back to current directory instead of empty name · 57e9e886
      Reiner Herrmann authored
Comparing two Debian packages directly resulted in an
empty directory name after stripping the filename,
while it was searching for dbgsym packages.
os.listdir tried to open it instead of using the
      current directory.

Reset mtimes of test directories and ignore ctimes · b47d7cda
      Reiner Herrmann authored
The mtimes of the directories were not normalized to the same
value, which had the effect that diffoscope would also output
their time difference if it was measurable. This leads to a
test failure, as this output is not expected.

On fast systems the successive mkdir calls only sometimes resulted
in different mtimes, while on slow systems this was more often the
case (like on the armhf nodes). By adding a time.sleep(1) between
the mkdir calls, I was able to reproduce the test failure every time.

Additionally the ctimes have to be ignored, as the user has no
control over it and mkdir or os.utime calls also result in changed
ctimes (which differ if Python is not fast enough).

Show line ordering variation in deb md5sums · 48059dbe
      Reiner Herrmann authored
When a md5sum file differs, diffoscope was only showing the comment
that files inside the package differ.
But it can also be that all remaining files are reproducible, and
only the line ordering inside the md5sums file varies.
If the line order varies, it will now also be shown.

Use recursive containers for directory · 246d34f2
      Jérémy Bobbio authored
This will prevent detecting renames until we implement fuzzy-matching accross
containers (#797759) but improves the behavior when searching for matching
debug packages. Otherwise, we would be looking at all files in the
tree instead of just the one at the same level as the binary package.
