This page is a TODO list for transitioning to Rails 5.2 for Debian Buster. Since the package is already available in experimental, we need to guarantee that the applications that depends on Rails package will keep working when it hits unstable. Below is the list of applications that maintainers and interested people should try this new rails version and identify potential issues/blocker:

**Guidelines to checking compatibility**
1. Check if the version in unstable has a restrictive version constraint (both in debian/control and in gemspec).
2. If no constraint, move it to ready in unstable heading.
3. If it has a constraint like < 5 or ~> 4.0. Check if a new upstream version relaxed it.
4. If upstream already relaxed it, move it to supported upstream heading.
5. If the new upstream version is already in experimental, move it to ready in experimental heading.
6. If upstream does not support already, request support and move it under support requested heading.
