piuparts hangs without output until killed by timeout

After preparing everything piuparts tries to install the actual package and just hangs without any output until killed by a timeout:

Taken from https://salsa.debian.org/bacula-team/bacula/-/jobs/7975446 but piuparts hasn't worked for us on salsa for a long time now. See also #357 but this seems to be different now.
