Salsa over SSH frequently fails

I'm frequently getting the following error when pulling or pushing from/to Salsa over SSH:

kex_exchange_identification: read: Connection reset by peer
Connection reset by 209.87.16.44 port 22
fatal: Could not read from remote repository.

Please make sure you have the correct access rights
and the repository exists.

This has also been reproduced by others.

UPDATE This is a known DoS, Salsa admins and DSA are working to fix.

This problem seems to be getting worse; a few days ago it was happening occasionally, now it is happening frequently.

Seems to be much better today - I haven't had a single ssh failure.

It's still an ongoing issue, as I get the error often when pushing.

We increased maxstartups for sshd which should more or less fix the problem: https://bpaulino.com/entries/allowing-more-connections-on-self-hosted-gitlab.

Since I have only very rarely experienced this again (or maybe never again?), I'm closing this issue.
