Request for flight-deck-bot service account for go-team

Hello Salsa team,

We are adopting flight-deck within the Debian Go Team to manage group and repository configurations at scale as code.

https://salsa.debian.org/go-team/flight-deck

Currently, flight-deck uses a GitLab group access token to perform actions inside the go-team group. This works for most operations, but we recently introduced a new feature that allows inviting or granting permissions to members outside the team for specific repositories.

At this point, we discovered a limitation: GitLab group access tokens do not have the required permissions to manage external members. As a result, flight-deck cannot perform these actions on behalf of the team.

To resolve this, we would like to request the creation of a dedicated service account called:

flight-deck-bot

This account would act as a bot user with the appropriate permissions to manage repositories and members inside the go-team.

Could you please let us know if it’s possible to create such an account, and if so, what steps we should follow?

Thank you for your help!
