Outreachy internship suggested project timeline

Starting the fundraising process on time gives everyone the opportunity to contribute meaningfully, we would reach as many sponsors as we want and even sponsors who initially do no0t have the intent to sponsor will have enough time to have a change of heart. Also if sponsors are not responding favourably it gives us time to re-strategize and target other sponsors.

  • I think using the task breakdown as given in the Outreachy project proposal makes sense. That allows for comparability between prospect interns, too.

The suggested "project" durations seem reasonable and having the flyer and brochure in parallel show that you understood it is the same content just once formatted in a brief extract format. Nice.

I suggest to do the static web page as the last work item before your #10 buffer as this will only be needed for the DebConf21. We have debconf20.debconf.org already running.

I suggest to move #5 - #7 as much to the front as you can as you still need to learn much more about the way Debian / DebConf does fundraising.

  • Thanks for the feedback. Corrections have been made and i also adapted the task breakdown as given in the Outreachy project proposal.

  • I doubt that the TOs will respond to info requests in the first week of the New Year though as that is holiday season virtually everywhere in the US and Europe. So you should probably better put a set of tasks there which you feel comfortable doing on your own. #5 Jan 7-13 and #7 Jan 28-Feb 10 seems to be the same content ("Create tracking tools to see funds received vs. funds obtained (Python script)"). Once you fixed these please submit at Outreachy.org so you stay within the deadline.
