We used the patch in Fedora for cca. a year and we install xtrlock with the CAP_DAC_READ_SEARCH capability and so far no problem encountered.

well you can setup notifications for the repos you care about. I think that would also be the GitLab default, but it was turned off for the debian ...

[in this case, to be fully useful, build changes would also be required]

I'd much rather be notified of things requiring attention via the BTS (otherwise I have to remember to check 2N places rather than N).

@matthew @lamby maybe take a look at this (and the other open) MRs?
