Add ISO 3166-2 Language Codes and Translations
This is a big change to the 3166-2 JSON format. Adding in language codes and their translations as provided on the ISO Website, for example:
Subdivision category | 3166-2 code | Subdivision name | Local variant | Language code |
---|---|---|---|---|
province | BI-BB* | Bubanza | fr | |
province | BI-BB* | Bubanza | rn | |
province | ZA-NC* | Noord-Kaap | af | |
province | ZA-NC* | Northern Cape | en |
To minimize impact to the use of the name
code @toddy suggested in !33 (closed) to format the JSON as such:
{
"code": "ZA-NC",
"name": "Northern Cape",
"type": "Province",
"translations": {
"en": "Northern Cape",
"nr": "iTlhagwini-Kapa",
"zu": "Nyakatho-Kapa"
}
},
Data in JSON is up to date with current format of data in !33 (closed) at time of writing
