Look for OpenJDK 17 when starting the server. (Closes: #1020948)

Merged Utkarsh Gupta requested to merge pu-update-for-bug-1020948 into bullseye

Hey @ebourg,

Thanks a bunch for fixing the bug in salsa for sid. This is a branch for bullseye -pu for the same. Once you upload to sid, I'll go ahead and upload to bullseye and file a -pu bug.

Can you please review this? TIA.

  • @utkarsh Thank you for spotting this issue. Considering that it's possible to set the JAVA_HOME variable in /etc/default/tomcat9 to run with OpenJDK 17 I don't feel it's urgent to change this in Bullseye, but feel free to upload it if you want.

Thank you for the review. I do agree that it's possible to set the variable in /etc/default/tomcat9, but I'd rather have this fixed at some point. :)

So if you have no problem, I'd still get this fixed in bullseye via a -pu. Hope that's okay.

When do you intend to upload to sid, btw?

  • 9.0.67 has just been released, so maybe next month with 9.0.68 if that's ok for you.

Thanks for the new release along with the bug fix. I'll open -pu in the next few days now.
