Draft: git-debrebase: Fix wrong use of real directory as playtree [TRIXIE]

Ian Jackson requested to merge gdr-recursion-fix-trixie into trixie

This is the backport of !333 (merged) to trixie. The patches rebase cleanly. I have added a changelog entry.

Draft because:

  • we want release team approval before merging. https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=1117455
  • there's a fixup that needs to be squashed
  • we should manually check that the failing CI jobs are only dgit-test-suite, dgit-test-suite-buster and t2u-integration-*. See CI should pass on !337, which is this MR plus dropping broken CI jobs.
